2013... Week 1...

2013... Day 1
'To-Do List For A Better Life'

Here's to a BRAND NEW CHANCE to make THINGS happen ~ but first, enjoy THIS DAY... and CELEBRATE!

Then, in a quiet moment,
Take some TIME to THINK...

CREATE a list of THINGS to do...
Those THINGS which always seem to get delayed...

THINGS which will CLEAR...
THINGS that will HELP you...
HELP you... to a BRIGHTER TOMORROW…

2013... Day 2
'Take A Step'

Now that you have your list,
You're already one-step on…
One leap towards ~ TOMORROW…

Your AIM throughout the year,
Is to ACHIEVE just ONE TASK every day… however small…

ANOTHER DAY…
ANOTHER TICK…
ANOTHER GOAL to add to your WINNING SMILE!

Doing MORE from your list is fine,
You can add…
You can take away…

But just doing ONE will MAKE THE WORLD OF DIFFERENCE...

2013... Day 3
'Follow Your Heart'

Feeling GOOD about making a START…
Be HAPPY… LOOK FORWARD… to FOLLOW YOU HEART...

2013… Day 4

"Whatever you DO… Whatever you SAY…
Just THINK of Others along the way…"

2013… Day 5
'Little Inspiration'

2013… Day 6
'Take Control'

LIFE is a JOURNEY…
LIFE is an EDUCATION…
LIFE can be a SURPRISE...

Some days you can REST,
And some days you can GRAB & LEARN...

Either way, you'll soon realise: IT ALL COUNTS

As long as you do everything you can,
towards being the BEST that YOU can BE!

Take Time To... ...LIVE! Nature Does x

Take Time To... ...LIVE!

Everybody these days rushes... racing onto something else, cramming in what they can, whenever they can... BUT wouldn't it be nice to do less - WANT LESS - NEED LESS - and ENJOY MORE?

In this money-motivated, throw-away world, it can be rare that people just:
STOP! LISTEN! LOOK! & THINK!

GIVE MORE TO WHAT'S GOOD TODAY -
& TAKE LESS OF WHAT'S GOING TO GONE
TOMORROW!

This is so awesome. Please take a moment to read:

A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule.

A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk.

A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.

The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.

In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.

Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?

One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?

'I Look To You' - RIP Whitney - End of an era...

I wasn't really familiar with this song until this week... but I now realise how sad and desperate it was - as well as being truly wonderful. Yes, her voice isn't there (how it would've been!), but the essence is.

Knowing what I know, in two areas, I hear and feel the sadness. Regret... maybe? But truth...yes!

Question is: although written for her by R. Kelly, was she looking to God - or herself?

Lyrics:

As I lay me down
Heaven hear me now
I'm lost without a cause
After giving it my all
Winter storms have come
And darkened my sun
After all that I've been through
Who on earth can I turn to?

I look to you, I look to you
After all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you, I look to you
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you

About to lose my breath
There's no more fighting left
Sinking to rise no more
Searching for that open door
And every road that I've taken
Led to my regret
And I don't know if I'm gonna make it
Nothing to do but lift my head

I look to you, I look to you
And when all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you, I look to you
Oh yeah, and when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you

My levee's have broken
My walls have come crumbling down on me
The rain is falling
Defeat is calling
I need you to set me free

Take me far away from the battle
I need you, shine on me

I look to you, I look to you
After all my strength has gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you, I look to you
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you

I look to you
I look to you
