Take Time To... ...LIVE!
Everybody these days rushes... racing onto something else, cramming in what they can, whenever they can... BUT wouldn't it be nice to do less - WANT LESS - NEED LESS - and ENJOY MORE?
In this money-motivated, throw-away world, it can be rare that people just:
STOP! LISTEN! LOOK! & THINK!
GIVE MORE TO WHAT'S GOOD TODAY -
& TAKE LESS OF WHAT'S GOING TO GONE
TOMORROW!

This is so awesome. Please take a moment to read:
A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.
Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule.
A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk.
A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.
The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.
In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.
No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.
Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.
This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?
One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?

'I Look To You' - RIP Whitney - End of an era...
I wasn't really familiar with this song until this week... but I now realise how sad and desperate it was - as well as being truly wonderful. Yes, her voice isn't there (how it would've been!), but the essence is.
Knowing what I know, in two areas, I hear and feel the sadness. Regret... maybe? But truth...yes!
Question is: although written for her by R. Kelly, was she looking to God - or herself?
RIP Whitney... the end of an era xxxx

Lyrics:
As I lay me down
Heaven hear me now
I'm lost without a cause
After giving it my all
Winter storms have come
And darkened my sun
After all that I've been through
Who on earth can I turn to?
I look to you, I look to you
After all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you, I look to you
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you
About to lose my breath
There's no more fighting left
Sinking to rise no more
Searching for that open door
And every road that I've taken
Led to my regret
And I don't know if I'm gonna make it
Nothing to do but lift my head
I look to you, I look to you
And when all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you, I look to you
Oh yeah, and when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you
My levee's have broken
My walls have come crumbling down on me
The rain is falling
Defeat is calling
I need you to set me free
Take me far away from the battle
I need you, shine on me
I look to you, I look to you
After all my strength has gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you, I look to you
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song, I look to you
I look to you
I look to you

"Inner Self"
I am not religious... but I do believe I am spiritual – in a sense: I believe our lives are mapped out before us. What determines that is 'my' mystery... and indeed everybody's... x
FATE will lead us to junctions in our lives and it is our choices that make us take one of the turnings laid out before us...
Our choices are influenced though through our circumstances, weaknesses, fears, and desires... depending on that choice, you will move onto another junction of fate and choice(s).
A lot is made of 'Choice' – but I believe there is a very fine line, grey area, and a whole world of not knowing in that decision, - and it's NOT as easy as do I or don't I?!
In-amongst all of this, is YOU! Your 'Inner Self'... and even with a wrong decision, you've still done it with your best intentions.

"LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT" [SB Blog x]
Hi... it's ME!!
Sorry for my lack of postings but I've been busy 'finally' having my Christmas!! Yep, I was ill over the Festive and New Year period, so I'm just about catching up!!
To be honest though, I feel that nothing has to be done just because the date says so!! By that, I mean, that just because the calendar says it's Christmas, do we all have to make this great creative effort to make such a wonderful day, when they essence of what you're 'giving', and should be 'giving'? Couldn't this be the same on ANY day of the year?
Yes, I know it's a religious day / festival, but surely if we all had the same 'true value' of Christmas Day, then that can be any time?
As it was, I spent my first Christmas on my own... but, as I am now a firm believer of 'LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT', it was ok... I had warmth and comfort, I had my TV, fone, and internet!, I had food, I had a few drinks......... I just chilled out and enjoyed a lazy few days.
Since then, I've had New Year, a belated birthday night, and have just 'gone home' for the day to catch-up on family.
All is good and I'm really looking forward to 2012 REALLY kicking in!!!

Beyond Pain - [and] - The belief is still MINE..!
Tuesday, 31 January 2012
BE YOURSELF & KNOW YOUR OWN WISDOM...
To believe in yourself is your heart and mind to everything...
Should others not share that belief, in any way, it can also cloud your own outlook...
Hear what they say, as 'some' of it might be important...
But, you'll know what is true, and what needs doing...
If you KNOW your true self, even considering any wrong doing, you will, and can!, work it out...
If you dwell on 'their' doubt, you will always lose...
