If you were raised on Rainbow, Blue Peter, and you played in the woods, fell out of trees and went home filthy and got a thick ear, had 4 TV channels & school started with the Lords prayer, had to be in at 7, rode home made go-karts with pram wheels, recorded the top 40 from the radio on a tape,… drank from the tap, rode your BMX or Grifter all day, went to the corner shop for a 10p mix up and you still turned out ok, then re-post This is WHEN ENGLAND WAS GREAT :)

MY THOUGHTS ON THE YOUNG OF TODAY AND THE YOUNG OF THE PAST
ReplyDeleteby Deano Hollett on Wednesday, 17 August 2011 at 18:28
those were the good old days
when you could go out and play
no gangs or yobs to deter you
or to get in your way
to play meant riding your bike, going to the shops for penny sweets
going to the park, climbing trees and having innocent friends to meet
having to be in by seven and to bed by eight
to us that was the norm and certainly not too late
compare that to some of the youth of today
they dont go out to 'play'
graffiti, smashing windows and the recent riots have prooved this
they cause such affray
and by no means do i include all of the youth
because the majority go about their way
playing harmlessly like kids should do
after school each and every day
but the minority make britain look bad
for which this is so sad
what happened to the innocence of our young?
being content by playing and just having childish fun?
do we blame the parents? the politicians or the peers?
there must be an answer but to me its just so unclear
the politicians will blame each other until their blue in the face
and its not just confined to just a single race
parents need to know where their kids are at night
and not just sit back and presume theyre alright
im not saying theye all to blame
but kids as young as 11 shouldnt be out late, any excuse is too lame
britain has definitely lost its 'great' to me
when it comes back we will have to wait and see
please please please know where your children are and make sure theyre in at a sensible time according to their age
we dont want a repeat of the recent attrocities which caused so much rage
we need to have a curfew set out based on childrens age
then and only then can we start to rebuild 'broken britain'
and give us pride once again.
pride for being british, and no more being ashamed
this time next year the world will be watching us
for 2012 olympics.
if its not already too late,
lets prove to them we are worthy hosts
by rebuilding broken britain and showing them we can do it by this we will be able to boast
NO MORE ATTROCITIES PLEASE OTHERWISE WE WILL SURELY LET DOWN
THE WORLD THAT WILL BE WATCHING PUTTING THE BLAME ON LONDON TOWN
